The Author and Purpose

The Author

Thank you for coming to my blog. My name is Marilyn. I am now in my thirties and originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, but I currently live near Orlando, Florida. I'm a wife to a tech savvy God-fearing man who puts up with my sass and loves and supports me well. I'm also a mama to two sweet little girls.

I have a Bachelor's in English Literature with minors in Writing and Business from a private Catholic university in my hometown. (For those of you wondering, I am not Catholic.) My day job is a instructional designer for a software company where I create training material and standard documentation. I love to read and write as much as I can. I also enjoy playing video games with my husband and our friends, going on coffee dates with my girlfriends, traveling, and trying new things whenever I have the opportunity.

I was raised in a Christian home where I knew a lot about God growing up but didn't actually know Him until I was a young teenager. I have had trials and tribulations throughout my life as a Christian, but I have been so blessed with the life that I have been given. That is why this blog is called Forever Better Than I Deserve.

The Purpose

I thought about writing this as a book one day, but the purpose of this blog is primarily to tell my testimony in snippets rather than one large chunk because it can be super overwhelming to hear some of the intense stories people have gone through. I personally have heard some testimonies that are full of hardships that are even painful to think about but see the redemption that has come through that. Also, some people have a really hard time telling their testimonies for numerous reasons. Some have trouble figuring out what to say while others have had a difficult life as a Christian. There are so many other reasons but I think it's super important to share testimonies because people can see what God has done in their lives and it opens the door to hear others' testimonies. I want to encourage any and all who have Christ in your heart to share your testimony with friends first, such as a Bible Study, so that you can share it with a stranger someday when you have the opportunity. But, I also want others who are searching for Christ to never give up because He will show up when you least expect it.

I will also write about some things that I think are extremely relevant to today but often get overlooked by Christians.
