Mother's Day 2026

To my eldest, Hailey Marissa, you made me a mother and have brought so much joy into my life. You humbled me so much over the last 3.5 years because you’re not just my carbon copy in looks but also in personality. God knew I needed you first. We prayed for wisdom for a lot of life decisions we were making as you came into our lives so it makes sense that we unintentionally named you “Wise Little Mary.”

You show me my shortcomings and make me want to be a better mom, wife, friend, sister, daughter, etc. You’re driven but stubborn. Funny but like to test boundaries. You choose your own timing on things, but you are so intelligent and surprise me with how much you already know even though I haven’t intentionally taught you those things yet. You love to help but don’t like getting help from others because you think you can do it all by yourself even if someone bigger is necessary. You know how to command a room and make friends so easily. I want to continue fostering all those things and redirect the struggles to find a balance.

To my second, Naomi Jane, you really are the “Beautiful Gift from God” that came after a season of hardship. We’ve had you around for almost a whole year and you are so different than your sister but a perfect part of our family. You balance out your sister out really well.

You’ve taught me to be a softer person and more flexible. You are more go-with-the-flow and happy unless you have to wait for a second to get food. You’re adventurous but cautious. Joyful but silly and are showing all the ways you can tease. Just like your sister, you surprise us with your intelligence. You are feisty like your sister but quick to forgive while quickly learning to stand up for yourself when Hailey tries to play the big sister card on you. It is so fun to watch the two of you grow up and become best friends.

To the son, Levi Brian, in my womb. You are the surprise we weren’t quite ready for, but God knows we will be when you come. We had your name ready when we first were planning to start a family, so we’re excited to be able to have some boy energy joy our chaos. It seems fitting that you come now that a lot of the biggest part of the plans God laid on our hearts and prayed for over the years. Your appearance is expediting some plans, which is why your name meaning “Strong Unity” seems only fitting.

I know you’ll be a perfect addition to our family as you already seem to like to play games with medical staff just like both your sisters. I look forward to being able to watch you play all the cars you race, the monsters and dinosaurs you pretend to be, and all the boy things that will make life different from the girl mom I currently am.

To my two babies in heaven, you will never be forgotten. You are very much loved. God has used you both to teach me how to abide in Him more and love on others grieving loss. I look forward to meeting both of you and holding your hands one day as we worship the Lord together.

Whether on Earth, in heaven, or in the womb, I love all my babies and am grateful that they have given me one of the best roles I could ever dream of: Mom.
